The first specimen was lot 42772 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $80. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 50 Centavos, 1919-M. Mexico City Mint. PCGS MS-64." This is the first date of a type struck 1919-21, 1925, 1937-39, 1942-45. In the reform of 1905, the fifty centavos was reduced from 13.54 g, 0.903 fine silver to 12.5 g, 0.800 fine. In 1918, the diameter was reduced from 30 mm to 27 mm and the weight lowered to 9.06 g. In late 1919, the weight was lowered again, to 8.33 g, and the purity reduced to 0.720 fine. The fifty centavos was struck in this form until 1945.

Recorded mintage: 10,200,000 plus 29,670,000 of KM 446.
