The first specimen was lot 1947 in Classical Numismatic Group's auction of the Richard Lissner collection (Chicago, August 2014), where it sold for $96.80. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO, Estados Unidos Mexicanos. 1905-pres. AR 50 Centavos. Ciudad de México (Mexico City) mint. Dated 1919 M. In NGC encapsulation graded MS 64. Choice lightly toned violet patina. Purchased from Meridian Coin Company, November 1975." This is the second date of a type struck 1918-19. In the reform of 1905, the fifty centavos was reduced from 13.54 g, 0.903 fine silver to 12.5 g, 0.800 fine. In 1918, the diameter was reduced from 30 mm to 27 mm and the weight lowered to 9.06 g. In late 1919, the weight was lowered again, to 8.33 g, and the purity reduced to 0.720 fine. The fifty centavos was struck in that form until 1945.

Recorded mintage: 29,670,000 plus 10,200,000 of the lighter type (KM 447).
