The first specimen was lot 22902 in Stack's Bowers ANA Auction (Denver, CO, August 2017), where it sold for $90. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 20 Centavos, 1907-M. NGC MS-65. Straight 7. Tied with four other examples at this numeric grade with only one certified finer (MS-66). Sharply struck and frosty, nice eye appeal." This specimen is an example of a type struck 1905-14 at Mexico City. Straight 7 and curved 7 varieties exist with little price difference between them. The last branch mints, Zacatecas and Culiacan, were closed in 1905 and all official Mexican coinage since has borne the Mexico City mintmark ("M" or "Mo"). This type replaced the silver twenty centavos struck 1898-1905.

Recorded mintage: 4,000,000 (straight 7, shown here) plus 5,435,000 (curved 7).

Specification: 5 g, 0.800 fine silver, 22 mm diameter, reeded edge.

Catalog reference: KM-435.
