This specimen was lot 21176 in Heritage sale 61630 (Dallas, February 2024), where it sold for $159. The lot description[1] noted, "Mexico: Republic 10 Centavos 1901 Mo-M MS66 PCGS, Mexico City mint. Beautiful lavender and navy blue tone." This specimen is a common date of a series struck 1898-1905 at the Mexico City mint. This ten centavos piece replaced the upright eagle type issued 1869-97. Other mints for 1901 include Zacatecas and Culiacan, the other mints having closed.

Recorded mintage: 80,000.

Specification: 2.70 g, 0.903 fine silver, 0.078 troy oz ASW.
