The 1805MoTH is one of a type struck 1792-1808. Assayer TH is recorded for the years 1804-10. All Mexican colonial gold may be considered scarce but the escudos of Charles IV are among the more available types. The second specimen was lot 4714 in Goldberg sale 41 (May 2007), where it sold for $1,150. The catalog description[1] noted, "Mexico. 1 Escudo, 1805-Mo TH. Charles IV. Official uniformed bust to right. Reverse: Crowned Hapsburg arms within chain of the Order of the Golden Fleece. Mintmark at lower left and assayers' initials at lower right, separated by fleece. A very pleasing lustrous example. NGC graded MS-62."

Specification: 3.38 g, 0.875 fine gold, .095 troy oz AGW.
