This specimen was lot 760 in Sedwick Treasure Auction 21 (Winter Park, FL, May 2017), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "Mexico City, Mexico, cob 1/2 real, 1660/59P, very rare. Full date (first specimen we have recorded), nearly full but off-center monogram, full but partially flat cross, About Fine, lightly toned." This specimen is a silver cob half real struck at Mexico City 1622-62. Specimens with clear dates are unusual, to the point where the SCWC does not list this date. In 1728, cobs were debased from .931 to 0.917 fine silver.
