This specimen was lot 22667 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Anaheim, CA, August 2016), where it sold for $564. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 8 Reales, 1610-MoF. Philip III (1598-1621). PCGS AU-53 Secure Holder. Full date, mint and assayer marks, about half of shield and most of cross. Medium toning with no issues to note. A handsome full date example." This type was struck 1598-1621 in Mexico City and is not rare except in high grade. The vast majority lack dates.
