This specimen was lot 4091 in Künker sale 294 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €2,800 (about US$3,774 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"REICHSGOLDMÜNZEN, MECKLENBURG-SCHWERIN, Friedrich Franz II. 1842-1883. 10 Mark 1872. R Schön/sehr schön. (unified gold coinage, grand duchy of Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Frederick Francis II, 1842-83, ten mark of 1872. Scarce, vine to very fine.)"
This type was struck 1872 only and is rare. It was accompanied by a scarce twenty mark.
