This specimen was lot 55698 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Pittsburgh, PA, August 2023), where it sold for $432. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Mansfeld-Eisleben. Taler, "96" (1596). Jost II. PCGS EF-40. Dav-9499. From an Old Brooklyn Collection." Mansfeld and its subdivisions were counties of utmost insignificance except for its silver mines which provided the material for an abundance of thalers. This type was issued 1596-99 and is nicknamed the spruchthaler. It is somewhat scarce.
