The Maldives are an island group in the Indian Ocean; they were a protectorate of Britain 1887-1968. The natives make their living by fishing. Global climate change, with its accompanying sea level rise, has made many Maldivians fear for the future of their homes. This type, featuring a mosque, was struck 1984, 1990 and 1996. It is the last of its denomination.
