This specimen was lot 2278 in Stephen Album sale 45 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2023), where it sold for $204. The catalog description[1] noted, "MADRAS PRESIDENCY: AR fanam, ND (1808-12), East India Company issue, square buckle variety, denomination in English, Persian, Tamil and Telugu, a lovely mint state example! PCGS graded MS63." The Madras presidency also had made two fanams, five fanams, quarter, half and one pagoda as well as an extensive series of rupees made in imitation of Mughal coinage.
