This specimen was lot 75294 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2025), where it sold for $4,560. The catalog description[1] noted, "INDIA. Madras Presidency. 2 Annas, ND (1808). Calcutta (as "Murshidabad") Mint. PCGS VF-35. A VERY RARE issue from the Madras Presidency, with this example being handsome, with even wear and nice charm." The similar KM 406 does not have the English legend. Also a similar fanam (KM 349) and double fanam (KM 350) and five fanams (KM 342/351) were struck at this time. Two annas made one-eighth of a rupee.
