Sincona sale 70, lot 3426

This specimen was lot 3426 in Sincona sale 70 (Zürich, May 2021), where it sold for 180 CHF (about US$239 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SWITZERLAND | Lucerne | Stadt und Kanton. 20 Kreuzer 1793, Luzern. Schräg gerippter Rand. Vorzüglich. (Switzerland, canton of Lucerne, twenty kreuzer of 1793, Luzern mint. Extremely fine.)"

This one year type was the first issue of this denomination in the canton since 1741. Twenty kreuzer = five batzen = 1/8 thaler.

Reported Mintage: unknown.
