Künker sale 335, lot 4110

This specimen was lot 4110 in Künker sale 335 (Osnabrück, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €1,200 (about US$1,570 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"LÜNEBURG, STADT. Reichstaler (32 Schilling) 1572, mit Titel Maximilians II. Gereinigt, sehr schön. (Germany, city of Luneburg, thaler of 1572, in the name of Maximilian II. Removed from jewelry, very fine.)"

This single year thaler was not issued by the duke of Brunswick-Luneburg but by the city in its own name.
