This specimen was lot 1520 in Sincona sale 22 (Zürich, May 2015), where it sold for 700 CHF (about US$879 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Lüneburg, Stadt, Taler 1548. Sehr schön. (Germany, city of Luneburg, thaler of 1548, very fine.)"
This thaler was not issued by the duke of Brunswick-Luneburg but by the city in its own name. It was issued 1546-48 and 1561-62.
