Steve Album sale 54, lot 2774

This specimen was lot 2774 in Steve Album Auction 54 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2026), where it sold for $80. The catalog description[1] noted, "LOMBARDY-VENETIA: Franz Joseph I, 1848-1866, AE centesimo, 1852-V, a superb mint state example! PCGS graded MS65 BN." This type was struck in 1852 at Milan and Venice. It is fairly common despite being a one year type. One hundred centesimi made a lira and six lire made a scudo. At the Congress of Vienna, Venice, Milan and Mantua were merged into the kingdom of Lombardy-Venetia and awarded to Austria. Lombardy fell to Sardinia in 1859 and Venetia to Italy in 1866.
