This specimen was lot 46459 in Stack's Bowers Summer 2026 Global Showcase Auction (Pittsburgh, September 2026), where it sold for $89. The catalog description[1] noted, "LITHUANIA. 1/2 Groat, 1564. Sigismund II August. PCGS EF-45. Variety with eagle without crown." In the sixteenth century, Lithuania comprised the northeast half of the kingdom of Poland whose monarch ruled the two regions separately. This type was struck in numerous varieties 1562-65. Numista calls this a half groat; we have used the German name half groschen but one could also call it a half grosz.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 1.2 g, 0.344 fine silver, 20 mm diameter.
Catalog reference: Kop-3271.
