Liechtenstein 1778 20 kreuzer
This specimen was lot 1941 in Sincona sale 47 (Zürich, May 2018), where it sold for 250 CHF (about US$300 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"LIECHTENSTEIN, Franz Joseph 1772-1781. 20 Kreuzer 1778, Wien. Gutes sehr schön. Leicht justiert. (Germany, principality of Liechtenstein, Francis Joseph, 1772-81, twenty kreuzer of 1778, Vienna mint. Good very fine, Minor adjustment marks.)"
This one-year type struck in Vienna for Liechtenstein is rare and expensive. It was accompanied by a half thaler (KM C5), thaler (KM C6) and a ducat (KM C7). The princes of Liechtenstein are not recorded as having visited their realm until after World War One.
