Sincona sale 90, lot 1453

This specimen was lot 1453 in Sincona sale 90 (Zürich, May 2024), where it sold for 7,500 CHF (about US$9,911 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"LIECHTENSTEIN, Franz Joseph, 1772-1781. Dukat 1778, Wien. Sehr selten. NGC MS62. Das durch NGC höchstbewertete Exemplar. (principality of Liechtenstein, Francis Joseph, 1772-81, ducat of 1778, Vienna mint. Very rare, graded NGC MS-62, finest certified by NGC.)"

This type has been restruck in gold and platinum, which restrikes have an "M" under the bust.
