This specimen was lot 32880 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), where it sold for $360. The catalog description[1] noted, "Julich-Berg. Johann Wilhelm 1/6 Thaler 1715-NP MS64 PCGS. Bright surfaces with delicate silver toning accents, culminating in superb visual appeal." This type was struck 1710-15. This specimen is nicer than the SCWC plate coin. It accompanied a 2/3 thaler (KM 143) and thaler (KM 144) which were issued 1711 only. Jülich-Berg was at this time ruled by the counts of the Palatinate. It later passed to Bavaria, then was overrun by Napoleon, then passed to Prussia in 1814.
