This specimen was lot 7279 in Ponterio sale 152 (New York, January 2010), where it sold for $540.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "JORDAN. 60 Dinars, 1981. PROOF." This commemorative was issued for the United Nations "Year of the Child" in 1981. Like all silver and gold coins of Jordan, it was not issued for circulation. It was accompanied by a silver three dinars (KM 43). The coinage of Jordan began with the issue of bronze and copper-nickel coins in 1949.

Specification: 17.17 g, 0.917 fine gold, .506 troy oz AGW, milled edge, 27 mm diameter.
