The coinage of Jordan began with the issue of bronze and copper-nickel coins in 1949. This type was struck for circulation 1978, 1984-85 and 1989. It was superseded by a one qirsh coin in 1994.
Recorded mintage: 30,000,000 plus 20,000 proofs.
Specification: 5.90 g, bronze, 25 mm diameter.
