This type was struck year 3 only. Shallow and deep scales varieties exist; we believe the specimen shown is a shallow scales. No more dimes struck until year 6, at which time a few design was used.
Recorded Mintage: 6,102,674 (shallow scales + deep scales).
Specification: 2.50 g, 0.800 fine silver, 17.6 mm diameter.
