This specimen was lot 3573 in Goldberg sale 104 (Los Angeles, June 2018), where it sold for $144. The catalog description[1] noted, "Israel. New Sheqel, 1992. Wildlife. Roe and lily. Choice Brilliant Proof." This NCLT honoring wildlife of the Bible was accompanied by a silver one new sheqel (KM 231), a silver two sheqalim (KM 232) and a gold five sheqalim (KM 233). The drawing in Friedberg shows the five sheqel.
Recorded mintage: 2,000 proofs.
Specification: 3.48 g, 0.900 fine gold, 18 mm diameter, 0.100 ounce AGW.
