This specimen was lot 869 in Stephen Album sale 30 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2018), where it sold for $340.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "ISRAEL: 1 agora, JE5721 (1961), only 2 examples known, PCGS graded Specimen-63, RRRR, ex King's Norton Mint Collection. Tied with only other known specimen for highest graded!" Rapid inflation destroyed the value of the 1949 series and the coinage was reformed in 1960 to 100 agorot = one lira. This type was minted in large numbers 1960-80. Large and wide date varieties exist for 1961.
