This specimen was lot 867 in Stephen Album sale 30 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2018), where it sold for $329. The catalog description[1] noted, "ISRAEL: 250 pruta, JE5709 (1949), with pearl type, only 7 examples known, PCGS graded Specimen-64, R, ex King's Norton Mint Collection." This one year type was accompanied by one pruta (KM 9), 5 pruta (KM 10), 10 pruta (KM 11), 25 pruta (KM 12), 50 pruta, 100 pruta (KM 14) and 500 pruta. Rapid inflation destroyed the value of this series and the coinage was reformed in 1960.
Recorded mintage: 1,496,000 struck with pearl, 524,000 without.
