This specimen was lot 863 in Stephen Album sale 30 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2018), where it sold for $141. The catalog description[1] noted, "ISRAEL: 1 pruta, JE5709 (1949), with pearl type, only 12 examples known, PCGS graded Proof 64, RR, ex King's Norton Mint Collection. Listed as Proof on the PCGS holder and website, but accurately described as a specimen strike." This one year type was accompanied by 5 pruta (KM 10), 10 pruta, 25 pruta (KM 12), 50 pruta, 100 pruta, 250 pruta (KM 15) and 500 pruta. Rapid inflation destroyed the value of this series and the coinage was reformed in 1960.

Recorded mintage: 2,660,000 struck with pearl, 2,500,000 without plus 20,000 proofs.

Specification: 1.3 g, aluminum, 21 mm diameter.
