This specimen was lot 1032 in Stephen Album sale 43 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2022), where it sold for $2,880. The catalog description[1] noted, "IRAN: Mohammad Reza Shah, 1941-1979, AV 5 pahlavi, AH1352, rare type, very lustrous with only a few wispy obverse hairlines, mintage of only 2,100 pieces, Unc, R." This type, struck SH 1339-1353 during the reign of Muhammed Reza Shah (r. 1941-79), was minted to the standard of a British five pounds. Gold one, 2½ (Fr-100) and ten pahlavis also exist. The coins generally trade as bullion coins.
