Iran SH1352 10 rials KM-1178

This specimen was lot 75685 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for $85. The catalog description[1] noted, "IRAN. 10 Rials, SH 1352 (1973). Tehran Mint. Muhammad Reza Pahlavi. PCGS MS-65." This type was struck SH 1345-1352 and has the denomination spelled "ده﷼" (ten rials) on the reverse. The reverse was modified mid year so that the denomination was spelled "ريال١٠" (KM 1179, 10 rials) and struck in that form until MS 2537. The shah was overthrown in 1979 and he died the next year.
