Iran AH 1324 2000 dinars
This specimen was lot 1168 in Sincona sale 85 (Zürich, October 2023), where it sold for 5,250 CHF (about US$7,070 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"IRAN, Muhammad Ali Shah, 1324-1327 AH (1907-1909). 1/5 Toman 1324 AH (1906/1907 AD), Tehran Mint. Lion & Sun type. Very rare date. Less than five specimens known. NGC MS63. Magnificent condition. From the Kian collection, auction SINCONA 49, October 2018, lot 178. Bought from Spink & Son, London, March 2010. Finest certified by NGC. There are less than five examples of the first issue of the 1/5 Toman for this date known."
This is the only fifth toman of Muhammed Ali. It is listed for AH 1326 and 1327. This denomination was also struck in silver, but not in AH 1324.
