This specimen was lot 76487 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2024), where it sold for $288. The catalog description[1] noted, "IRAN. Qajar Dynasty. Toman, AH 1236 (1820/21). Tehran Mint. Fath 'Ali Shah. NGC AU Details--Mount Removed. While unfortunately previously mounted, this Toman displays commendable details and nice presentability." The Tehran mint struck this "type W" toman AH 1232-1235, 1239, one of 14 mints to do so. Ten kran made a toman.
