This specimen was lot 33305 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2024), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "IRAN. Qajar Dynasty. Toman, AH 1234 (1819/20). Tabriz Mint. Fath 'Ali Shah. NGC MS-63. Outside of a few minor areas of striking weakness, this Choice example abounds with crispness and vibrancy of luster. The sole representative of the date in the NGC census." The SCWC lists fourteen mints for this type, struck AH 1231-1240, but lists only AH 1233, 1236 and 1238 for this mint. Later issues were reduced in weight.
