This quarter anna was struck at the Calcutta mint after World War One. The type was struck 1912-36 and is common in all grades but still makes a handsome coin in nice condition. This is a common date. The Bombay mint also struck this type but only in 1924-28, 1930 and 1936. A quarter anna was one sixty-fourth of a rupee. The second specimen was lot 2765 in Stephen Album sale 38 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2020), where it sold for $41.65. The catalog description[1] noted, "BRITISH INDIA: George V, 1910-1936, AE ¼ anna, 1920(c), NGC graded MS65 RB."

Recorded mintage: 96,019,000.

Specification: 4.72 g, bronze, 25.4 mm diameter.
