This specimen was lot 73705 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2023), where it sold for $120. The catalog description[1] noted, "INDIA. 1/2 Rupee, 1906-(C). Calcutta Mint. Edward VII. NGC MS-62. A Mint State example, with some curious film or tone on the surfaces." The half rupees of Edward VII were struck 1904-10 and most dates are common. Proofs are rare.
Recorded mintage: 3,036,000, a high mintage date.
