India 1903-B rupee

from the Stack's Bowers 2022 Collector's Choice sale, lot 74332

This specimen was lot 74332 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2022), where it sold for $120. The catalog description^[1] noted, "INDIA. Rupee, 1903-B. Bombay Mint. Edward VII. PCGS MS-62. Variety with incuse mintmark, and dot on stem. This lovely and icy near-Choice exemplar displays great detail and is a wonderful representative of this popular type." The Bombay issue is slightly scarcer than Calcutta for the year.

Recorded mintage: 52,969,000 + 49,403,000 from Calcutta.
