This specimen was lot 25106 in Heritage sale 3026 (Long Beach, October 2013), where it sold for $4,700. The catalog description[1] noted, "Edward VII Proof Rupee 1903-(C), Proof 64 PCGS, nicely toned with pewter gray patina, an attractive original Proof." The rupees of Edward VII were struck 1903-10 and most dates are common. Proofs are rare. The Bombay mint contributed another 52,969,000.
Recorded mintage: 49,403,000 plus proofs and restrikes.
