This specimen was lot 902 in Stephen Album sale 39 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2021), where it sold for $804. The catalog description[1] noted, "HYDERABAD: Mir Mahbub Ali Khan, 1868-1911, AV ashrafi, Farkhunda Bunyad, AH1300 year 17, EF-AU, S." The Indian princely state of Hyderabad was one of the few large enough and wealthy enough to mint an extensive series of gold coins. This type was struck AH 1286-1318.
