This specimen was lot 884 in Stephen Album sale 43 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2022), where it sold for $336. The catalog description[1] noted, "HYDERABAD: Mir Mahbub Ali Khan, 1868-1911, AV 1/16 ashrafi, Farkhanda Bunyad, AH1302x, a superb mint state example of this rare type! PCGS graded MS65." The Indian princely state of Hyderabad was one of the few large enough and wealthy enough to mint an extensive series of gold coins. This type was struck AH 1305, 1314, 1315 and 1321 along with a one-eighth ashrafi (KM Y19).
