Hupeh Province is located in east-central China. The mint was active from the early Manchu dynasty, and adapted for modern coin mintage in 1895.
The specimen shown was lot 21312 in Ponterio sale 165 (Hong Kong, April 2012), where it sold for $717. The catalog description[1] noted, "CHINA. Hupeh. 10 Cash, CD (1906). NGC MS-63 RB. 丙午”鄂”字戶部大清銀幣十文。Ex: A.M. Tracey Woodward Collection. Frank Robinson Collection."
