Hupeh Province is located in east-central China. The mint was active from the early Manchu dynasty, and adapted for modern coin mintage in 1895.
The specimen shown was lot 21314 in Ponterio sale 165 (Hong Kong, April 2012), where it sold for $1016. The catalog description[1] noted, “Lot #21314. CHINA. Hupeh. 10 Cash, CD (1906). 丙午”鄂’字戶部大清銅幣十文。Pearl with four flowers and a spiral in relief. 龍珠陽旋。PCGS MS-64 RD.”
Recorded mintage: 1,865,558,000.
