Jean Elsen sale 154, lot 1624

This specimen was lot 1624 in Jean Elsen sale 154 (Brussels, March 2023), where it sold for €500 (about US$647 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SAINT EMPIRE, Charles VI (1711-1740), AR Taler, 1729 KB, Kremnitz. Type hongrois. D/ B. l., dr. et cuir. à d. R/ Aigle impériale couronnée. Nettoyé. Petits coups. Superbe. (Austria, Charles VI, 1711-40, silver thaler of 1729, Kremnitz mint, Hungarian type. Obverse: laureate, draped and armored bust right; reverse: crowned imperial eagle. Cleaned, minor nicks, Extremely Fine.)"

This surprisingly common issue was minted 1717-30, succeeded by a very similar type of 1730-35 (Dav-1060).
