Sincona sale 39, lot 4002

This specimen was lot 4002 in Sincona sale 39 (Zürich, May 2017), where it sold for 220 CHF (about US$264 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE - AUSTRIA, Karl VI. 1711-1740 Taler 1730. Kremnitz. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. (Holy Roman Empire, Charles VI, 1711-40, thaler of 1730, Kremnitz mint. Very fine-extremely fine.)"

This surprisingly common issue was minted 1717-30, succeeded by a very similar type of 1730-35 (Dav-1060).

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 28.82 g, 0.875 fine silver; this specimen is 28.71 g.
