Hungary 1614-KB 2 ducats Fr-80
This specimen was lot 1575 in Sincona sale 90 (Zürich, May 2024), where it sold for 67,500 CHF (about US$89,195 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"RDR / ÖSTERREICH, Matthias, (1608-)1612-1619. 2 Dukaten 1614 KB, Kremnitz. Münzmeister Georg Fleisch. Sehr selten. NGC MS64. Prachtexemplar. Das durch NGC höchstbewertete Exemplar. (Holy Roman Empire, Matthias, 1612-19, double ducat of 1614, Kremnitz mint. Very rare, Cabinet piece, finest certified by NGC, graded NGC MS-64.)"
This rare type is listed for 1614, 1616 and 1618. It is the first double ducat of Matthias we have posted on the site.
