Künker Auction 426, lot 3052

This specimen was lot 3052 in Künker Auction 426 (Osnabrück, July 2025), where it sold for €350 (about US$496 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"HABSBURGISCHE ERBLANDE-ÖSTERREICH · RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH, Rudolf II., 1576-1612. Reichstaler 1584 KB, Kremnitz. Sehr schön. (Holy Roman Empire, Rudolf II, 1576-1612, thaler of 1584, Kremnitz mint. Very fine.)"

The Hapsburg ruler styled himself king of Hungary but actually ruled only a slice near the Austrian border, the remainder being divided between the Ottoman Turks and the prince of Transylvania. Davenport lists this type for 1578-1600 as Dav-8066 and 1601-08 as Dav-3013.
