This specimen was lot 4460 in Künker sale 406 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €750 (about US$984 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH, Rudolf II. 1576-1612. Reichstaler 1589, KB, Kremnitz. Hübsche Patina, vorzüglich. (Austria, Rudolf II, 1576-1612, thaler of 1589, Kremnitz mint. Handsome patina, extremely fine.)"

The Hapsburg ruler styled himself king of Hungary but actually ruled only a slice near the Austrian border, the remainder being divided between the Ottoman Turks and the prince of Transylvania. Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: silver, this specimen 28.40 g.

Catalog reference: Dav-8066; Voglh. 100 III.
