This specimen was lot 23037 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2019), where it sold for $144. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Cent, 1933. George VI. NGC MS-66 Red. Showcasing strong luster with a bright red color. A coveted grade for this George V copper issue." British coinage for Hong Kong ceased in 1997 when the island was returned to China. The bust of King George V appears on the obverse. This type was struck 1931-34 and is common. It replaced the preceding large cent of 1923-26. The denomination was suspended in 1941 with the Japanese occupation.
