This specimen was lot 2571 in Stephen Album sale 41 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2021), where it sold for $96. The catalog description[1] noted, "HONG KONG: George V, 1910-1936, AE cent, 1931, full red obverse, NGC graded MS65 RB." British coinage for Hong Kong ceased in 1997 when the island was returned to China. The bust of King George V appears on the obverse. This type was struck 1931-34 and is common. It replaced the preceding large cent of 1923-26. The denomination was suspended in 1941 with the Japanese occupation.

Recorded mintage: 5,000,000 plus proofs.

Specification: 1.95 g, bronze, 22 mm diameter.
