This is an early date of a type struck in Honduras 1888-1922. None are common, tho this is one of more available dates. Locally struck, this type is often found crudely made. This specimen was lot 22089 in Heritage sale 3021 (New York, January 2013), where it sold for $1,468.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic gold Peso 1895, MS62 NGC, a very nice coin with sharply struck details, highly unusual for Honduras gold coins from this era."
Recorded mintage: 43 per the SCWC.
Specification: 1.61 g, 0.900 fine gold, .046 troy oz AGW.
