Holland 1759 ducat Fr-250
This specimen was lot 5235 in Sincona sale 4 (Zürich, October 2011), where it sold for 325 CHF (about US$432 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"NIEDERLANDE Holland Dukat 1759. Stehender Ritter mit Pfeilbündel zwischen der geteilten Jahreszahl nach rechts stehend. Rv. Verzierte Tafel mit fünf Zeilen Schrift. Min. just. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. (Netherlands, province of Holland, ducat of 1759. Obverse: standing knight holding a bundle of arrows divides date; reverse: square tablet with four lines of text. Minor adjustment marks, very fine to extremely fine.)"
This type was struck without change 1702-92 and is priced in the SCWC as a common date. Holland was the largest and wealthiest part of the United Provinces, now the kingdom of the Netherlands.
