The first specimen was lot 1129 in Jean Elsen sale 115 (Brussels, December 2012) where it sold for €800 (about US$1,221 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"NEDERLAND, HOLLAND, Graafschap, Philips II (1555-1581), AR Philipsdaalder, 1557, Dordrecht. Met titel van koning van Engeland. Droit: Geharnast bb. l. PHILIPPVS in de legende. Revers: Gekroond wapenschild op een Bourgondisch kruis tussen twee vuurijzers. Mooie patina. Ex HSA 1428. Zeer Fraai. (county of Holland, Philip II (1555-81), silver daalder/écu of 1557, Dordrecht mint, with the title of king of England. Obverse: armored bust to left; reverse: crowned arms over a Burgundian cross between two jewels. Nice patina, very fine.)"

The second specimen was lot 999 in Jean Elsen list 269 (Brussels, July-August 2014), where it was offered for €350 (about US$476). The catalog description[2] noted,

"NEDERLAND, HOLLAND, Graafschap, Philips II (1555-1581), AR Philipsdaalder, 1557, Dordrecht. Met titel van koning van Engeland. Droit: Geharnast bb. l. PHILIPPVS in de legende. Revers: Gekroond wapenschild op een Bourgondisch kruis tussen twee vuurijzers. Deels zwak aan de rand. Zeer Fraai (county of Holland, Philip II (1555-81) silver philipsdaalder of 1557, Dordrecht mint, with the title of 'king of England.' Obverse: armored bust of Philip to left; reverse: crowned arms over a Burgundian cross and three jewels of the GOlden Fleece. Weakly struck on edge, very fine.)"

Holland was the largest and wealthiest of what later became the United Provinces.
